Who we are
Altokoda is Altokoda (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa. We operate altokoda.com and provide the services described below.
These terms apply when you use our website or hire us for work. Please read them before you buy anything from us. You can reach us through our support form or by email at web@altokoda.com.
Our services
Altokoda provides:
- Project work: branding, website design, website development and custom software, quoted and agreed per project.
- Maintenance and support: monthly plans for websites and custom software, as agreed with each client.
Project work and maintenance and support plans are governed by these terms together with the written quote or agreement for that work. If the two differ, the quote or agreement applies.
Prices and payment
Prices on our website are estimates in South African Rand. Your final price depends on what you need and is confirmed in your written quote, which also sets out any deposit and when payment is due.
Online payments are processed securely by Payfast. You enter your card or bank details on Payfast's payment pages, and we don't see or store them. Domain registration is charged at cost.
Delivery
Our services are delivered digitally, and we don't ship physical goods. We deliver work by email, through online access or by publishing it to your website or system. Your written quote sets out what we'll deliver and the expected timing, which depends on us receiving what we need from you.
Cancellations and refunds
Our Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how to cancel and when refunds apply.
Acceptable use
You may not use our services to:
- infringe anyone's trademark, copyright or other rights, or claim someone else's work as yours
- send or upload anything unlawful, harmful or misleading
- attempt to break, overload or get around the security of our services
We may stop providing our services to anyone who breaks these rules. Where it's reasonable, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.
Automated access and AI training
Automated tools such as crawlers and bots may access our websites only as permitted by their robots.txt files. Using them to collect our content for training or improving artificial intelligence or machine learning models is not allowed unless robots.txt explicitly permits that tool for that purpose.
Availability
We run our services on Cloudflare's global network and work to keep them available at all times, but we can't promise they'll never be interrupted. We may carry out maintenance, and we'll give notice of planned work that could affect you where we can.
Your content
You keep all rights to the material you give us. You give Altokoda permission to store, process and display it only as needed to provide our services to you. We don't use it for anything else.
Our intellectual property
Our websites, software and designs belong to Altokoda. Project deliverables, including custom software, become yours as set out in your quote or agreement, usually once paid in full.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, or our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, such as for gross negligence or fraud.
Ending these terms
You can stop using our services at any time. We may end them for you if you break these terms, or with 30 days' notice by email if we stop offering a service.
Electronic communications
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, for example by email, and that these communications meet any legal requirement for communications to be in writing, in line with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll show the date of the latest version on this page.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. If something goes wrong, contact us first through our support form or by email at web@altokoda.com and we'll try to resolve it with you. Any dispute we can't resolve goes to the courts of South Africa.
